#20 - The Fairy God Lizards
After watching some episodes of Nickelodeon's The Fairly OddParents, I always thought to myself, "What would happen if I make Izzy and Gila as Fairy Godparents like Cosmo and Wanda?" And this picture came in to existence. And I know that after looking at this, some people would say, "Hey, that's Cosmo and Wanda as Lizards!" and look, I know that made you think that is Cosmo & Wanda, but that is NOT Cosmo and Wanda. It's just my OCs Izzy and Gila as Fairy Godparents. Also, to me, their skin colors are almost as similar to Cosmo & Wanda's normal hair colors. I don't know, but that's just me. Another piece of cartoon fanart that I did a great job on. #19 - T-T-T-T-That's All, Folks!
Another piece of fanart that made it on to list and wouldn't you know it, it's classic Looney Tunes logic. Of course, everybody that grew up from the classic days remembers Porky Pig's signature outro phrase, "T-T-T-T-That's All, Folks!" whenever a cartoon ends. And that always gets me, because I like that ending so much that I decided to make a picture out of it. And wouldn't you know it, it turns out to be fantastic. In fact, whenever I would make a cartoon, I used to wish that I have this at the end of it. That would be a great idea, wouldn't you know it?#18 - Ready to Take On an Adventure
Okay, this is where I start to warn you that most of my artwork on this list usually reflects on the wolves and how I started to get better and better at drawing them. You'll see why later. Anyway, going to this. Around that time, I've never made a picture of both Classic Lexis and Lexis, Alpha together in one picture. I mean sure there have been Lexises in Full Color
and Canine Artists
, but not with my improved skills I haven't done it in a long time. And to show you, this picture here is pretty much the comparison of what my art style would look like. You have the cartoony style of Classic Lexis which most of them will be on my regular OCs, and you have the more serious, semi-realistic style of Lexis, Alpha, which I started to develop more on the Elemental Wolf characters. Now you know the difference, now you know why it's on this list.#17 - Flying With Balloons
I've seen this concept on both the 2004-2010 DreamWorks Animation logo and Disney's The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, so I thought, "Why not give my character a shot?" As you can see, I put in some time and effort on figuring out the colors to give to the balloons since they're so colorful and this is the result that came out. It looks like I'm bringing in some bright colors to the world, after all, the skies are the limit, right? #16 - We're Back!
Another picture featuring a character doing a piece/2 sign. I always love it when the characters do that on certain movie posters and trailers for the sequels. Originally, the title was supposed to be called, "Who's Up for Seconds?", since that fits it in with this picture, but after looking at certain movie trailers for certain movie sequels and after hearing the announcer saying that all of our favorite characters are back and returning, that's when I said, "You know what, I think 'We're back!' would fit in with this." Another one of my favorites. #15 - A Wolf's Luminous Dream
Pretty much every wolf artist would seem to love this picture. Of course, almost every wolf were fascinated by the night sky, especially howling at the moon. Also, I've seen some pictures featuring a wolf on the moon after searching for more talented wolf artists (example:
's submission) and I thought that maybe my wolf form fursona would have the same treatment. This is where I start to get better at drawing the moon, but not better at drawing the sky yet. I still have some issues to work out with it. This picture is indeed luminous because it will always feel that way if a wolf starts to dream.#14 - A Tie Between Live & Learn and The Power of One
Of course, I would usually do artwork based upon music, animated movies, etc. These 2 are no exception since they're both based on a certain aspect from a popular Japanese video game franchise that I grew up on. The Live & Learn picture was actually based on an AWESOME song from Sonic Adventure 2 for Dreamcast, which most people considered to be one of the best Sonic games ever made, by Crush 40. You gotta feel the lyrics, the rockin' music, and the overall tone of it. It's one of those song that I love to listen to over and over. On the other hand, you got The Power of One, which is, of course, based on one of the best Pokémon movies ever made, Pokémon The Movie 2000. That picture was for many wolf artists and even Pokémon fans seems to enjoy, including me. These 2 can be tied, but they are both loved even when it came from a popular franchise.#13 - Memories...
During the course of making this, I started to have fresh memories on my own past. How good the 90s and the early 2000s were, how I started to remember all of the good times I had when I was a kid, and some of the people and places I used to love so much. Ooohhh, those are some good times. u_u But now that we live in a world where everything is modernized, high-tech, and new-school, I started to have mixed feelings towards it. I mean sure, there are some pros to point out, but the cons like some of the stores going away (example: Kmart), Saturday morning cartoons don't exist anymore, people dying, whew boy, that seems interesting.
But hey, as long as Disney's Meet the Robinsons would say, "Keep Moving Forward".#12 - Kick It Up a Notch
Now, some people would say that this was inspired on popular dance moves such as Disco. But, that's not the case for this picture here. What made me inspire to do a picture on this was SpongeBob's fantastic pose that was seen in some merchandise. It has that "You go boy!" feeling towards it like SpongeBob's. In fact, Reynard pretty much resemble SpongeBob to me. He may be lucky, but she sure does know how to have a great time. #11 - Halloween: It's Showtime!
This is actually the first time that I decided to put in a Halloween picture on any Favorite Blue Macaw artwork list. It's also ironic that I posted this on Friday the 13th, which is the day I started to make Halloween pictures again for this year. The title of this picture is what I'm gonna talk about now. I started to get that inspiration from the classic Halloween movie, Beetlejuice starring Michael Keaton, as his classic catchphrase whenever he honks his crotch and presents himself. And that's pretty much saying the same for this picture right over here. It's scary, but it's a perfect start for Halloween 2017.#10 - Another Tie Between Nighttime Stargazing and Relaxing in the Sun
The reason why those 2 ended up getting another tie on this list is because they all contain one specific goal. Remember back in A Wolf's Luminous Dream that I said that I have issues making the skies? Well, recently, I've overcome them, bit maybe a little bit. Over the years, I HATED doing the skies on my pictures seeming that I have to color the whole thing. But after saying to myself that I have to establish day & night on to these pictures, I knew how to make good skies again, and that is: color the background with monochromatic colors and not just one. For these pictures, I started to blend in the colors of the sky to make it look real. My first attempt on this is my art trade with
. Well, I don't hate coloring the sky, but I'm gonna need more work on it.#9 - Everybody's Favorite Canine Trio
Ever since they're first created in 2015, people, including me, are starting to give appreciation for Lexis, Alpha, Lupa, and Randy. Which is why I gave this picture that title. This is why I started to give a lot more focus on them then my actual OCs. And that is to retrieve one goal: to impress popular Wolf artists like
, etc. Also, around that time of making, I'm starting to figure about a story for them, maybe for a TV series. I'm not a good writer though, but I sure wish I could have some help developing a proper story. #8 - Lexis, Alpha: The Moon Wolf
This probably would serve as a logo for a Deviantart group that I'm planning to create called Blue Macaw Wolves: home to the Elemental Wolves and
. It would also have some other stuff like
and more. I may not have the power to do that yet, but I will make a group on it sometime in the near future if I have CORE membership.#7 - Beautiful
After listening some music with my mom, I noticed this one song called Beautiful by Mali. The music is so dreamy and lovely with its dreamy music and also the beat of it. I loved that song so much that this picture came alive. This was also a perfect fit for Lexis, Alpha and Lupa here, since they're seeming to be love interests at this point. And that's what I do with my wolves: I give them a picture based on music that is NOT
crazy and weird, but only that's lovely, calm, relaxing, and enjoyable. This is another one that is my favorite that is based on a song that I really like.#6 - Prepare to Feel My Wrath!!!
Okay, Okay, calm down. Lexis, Alpha is not a horrible monster, he's still the same, even when he's a werewolf on Halloween. But what makes this deserve the #6 spot on my list is the fantastic pose I gave him. After looking at
's artwork on werewolves, I've started to give my shot on making werewolves. There's 2 of them on this list that I started to give my talents and efforts on this werewolf concept on Halloween. This one was close to getting the #5 spot, but that's not enough to withstand the other picture. Which is....#5 - Lexis, Alpha: THE WEREWOLF!!!
Now this one is my first ever attempt on developing a werewolf concept. And I started this out by giving it to my popular wolf, Lexis, Alpha. Once again, he still remains the same, he hasn't changed his personality. Think of Sonic in Sonic Unleashed. When Sonic becomes a werehog, he hasn't changed his personality. And that's the same here. I know you guys are excited to see him in werewolf form again, but I guess you'll have to wait until October 2018 to see him again in his awesome poses.#4 - Another Tie Between It's a Masterpiece! and A Winter Wonderland
This is my 3RD time I have to give a tie spot on this list. Okay, these are the artwork that I'm actually really proud of. Let's start off with It's a Masterpiece!
. This is one of my first artworks that I made for this year. And wouldn't you know it, It's another picture of my fursona in a tuxedo because hey, I love cartoon characters with tuxedos, so don't have pity on me. You got that? Good. The Winter Wonderland picture, on the other hand, is actually really colorful for me. It actually gives that winter feel, so well, that I actually posted this on Christmas Eve. Also, I've brought in some other people like
to help bring the Christmas cheer. Both of them are a tie, but I still have put some time and effort onto them.#3 - Fearless
This is probably my most favorite picture I ever made for Lexis, Alpha. This picture shows that the most important thing to be the Alpha of the wolf pack is be fearless. Other characters have shown this concept:
's Hekate, and
's Rodwen. Also, the pose I gave to Lexis, Alpha in this picture really digs me since I always dreamt of getting him a more dominant pose. And this picture really shows it. This and Prepare to Feel My Wrath!!!
were the ones that show that Lexis, Alpha is always vigilant, protective, and always fearless.#2 - A Merry Canis Lupis Christmas
This one is actually pretty close to #1 for me since I did this recently on Christmas Day. Speaking of Christmas, I thought that this would be the perfect Christmas gift for every wolf artist that I admire. And you know what, it is. Every single wolf artist alike including
and others seem to give appreciation and love this gift to death. The reason why they love it is the time and effort I did to give it some special coloring and to put in a lot of wolves to celebrate this ceremony of Christmas. The visual presentation is outstanding. Even I know that I did an excellent job on creating this gift. An excellent Christmas gift for everybody and probably one of the reasons why Christmas is the best holiday of the world.
And before we get to #1, I would like to show you some other artwork that didn't make it on to this list, but they're still my favorite nonetheless.HONORABLE MENTIONS
And with that said, let's get to it!
And my #1 Favorite Piece of Artwork that I made for this year is... #1 - The Alpha Pack in Action
Now this one will always be my favorite. Better yet, this is one of the first artwork I made for the Alpha Pack this year. I've seen many movie posters where the main characters are always in the spotlight of the movie (an example of this is Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius). The same thing could be said in here and holy crap, it turned out to be fantastic. I might as well give you a brief explanation will show how the Alpha Pack are supposed to behave in the Elemental Wolves series. Lexis, Alpha, like I said, is the leader who is always fearless and vigilant, Lupa is the femme fatal who likes to kick butt, but has a soft side for others, and Randy is the brave arctic wolf who just want to do whatever it takes to survive. They could almost be like the Power Rangers of wolves. Or should I say, Power Wolves, huh, huh? Anyway, with the awesome pose, the fantastic characters, and the overall feeling of it, this picture will now and forever be the best artwork I made for 2017. Everyone, let's give myself a bow.
And that's pretty much it for this year. There's more fun coming for Blue Macaw Studios in 2018. I would like to thank the people who inspired me to make these pictures.
and many more.
Thanks for sticking with us and Happy New Year, 2018!
